A Traditional Country Club in the Mahoning Valley (2017 – 2020)
Brought on by a national food service company to provide turnaround strategies and services in membership and service for a struggling country club. It is the central business and entertainment venue for the corporate office and holds all ongoing training dinners and client tour lunches as well as other dining and entertainment opportunities for the ownership.
Results: Rebuilt the management team by recruiting and transitioning five department heads to the team. Grew the membership by 75 net members. Improved service standards. Elevated the community image of the Club. Recruited my replacement and transitioned him into the role of general manager within the agreed upon timeframe.
Private Trout Club in Western Ohio (2015 & 2017)
Brought on by the Board of Directors on two separate occasions to evaluate the new manager and management team. Conducted department head reviews with the general manager. Provided professional insight into the overall membership experience through club and dining experience surveys. Assessed the overall membership satisfaction and determined areas for improvement, with action plans for those areas of improvement.
Results: Provided an operational audit of the facilities, service quality, and management team effectiveness. Set up, administered member surveys of overall club operations and service experience. Provided a professional assessment of the club manager, a management improvement plan, and an outside consultant to implement and monitor progress. Presented results, recommendations and improvement plans to the Board.
Large full-service catering company in Northeast Ohio (2016)
The ownership created a (2nd) Executive Vice President role for me to focus on all on-premise catering at its premier venue ($6MM annual revenues). This organizational expansion allowed the existing EVP to focus on the RFP to retain the food service contract at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Results: Provided professional management oversight to the property and all on-site business. Created and implemented a departmental payroll management tool to predict needs and control costs.
